Stretched Canvas FAQs

What’s the main difference between a standard and a deep-edge canvas?

It mostly comes down to the "depth" of the frame. A standard canvas is usually about 18mm-20mm thick, which is perfect if you plan on framing your work. A deep-edge canvas (38mm) is much thicker, giving it a modern look that stands out on its own without a frame.

Will my oil paints work on these canvases?

Absolutely. All of our canvases are primed with acid-free gesso. This creates a safe barrier so the oils won’t sink in and damage the natural fibres over time, keeping your colours vibrant for years.

Do your canvases come in different shapes?
