    FAQs

What is the difference between a palette knife and a painting knife?

A palette knife is usually straight and used for mixing, while a painting knife has a cranked (bent) handle to keep your knuckles out of the wet paint.

Can I use these with both oil and acrylic?

Absolutely. Metal knives are universal and work perfectly for any heavy-body paint.

Should I buy plastic or metal knives?

Metal knives offer better flexibility and a sharper edge for detail, whereas plastic is a budget-friendly option for beginners or workshops.

How do I clean a palette knife?

It’s the easiest tool to maintain - simply wipe it clean with a cloth or paper towel immediately after use. No solvents required!

    Do you offer bulk discounts?

Yes, we offer a 10% discount on all orders over £150 to support your larger commissions. Whether you are stocking up on heavy-body acrylic paints or large bottles of painting mediums, we make it more affordable to bring larger visions to life.

    What is your returns policy?

You can return items to us within 30 days of purchase for a full refund, subject to them being in good condition and in their original packaging. This will have to be done at your own expense and using your chosen carrier.

If your order contains faulty or damaged items, please email sales@loxleyarts.co.uk, and our team will assist you. Please email us clear photos of your faulty/damaged item within 3-5 days of receiving your order.
